The controversial "Face" found in the Cydonia region of Mars is looking more like a heap of dust, to me at least. New images from the ESA's Mars Express orbiter confirm that the features are natural. There are many hyperlinks in this SPACE.com article for one to develop a conclusion. Are there those that see something else?

Hi, Everyone:
It's been two months since the last update, when I announced myparticipation in the filming of a new National Geographic documentary featuring the Starchild. I also announced that we'd finally secured a top New York literary agent to handle the new Starchild book I wrote. This is to bring you up to date on those important developments, along with two others that might be of interest.
First, National Geographic. The show will be a segment on the new "Is It Real?" series they're producing. Its theme will be "Ancient Astronauts." Featured will be Erich Von Daniken, the man who started it all; Zecharia Sitchin, the man who lifted it to another level; and a few other lesser players, including myself, because of my association with the Starchild skull. It is still scheduled to be broadcast in late fall. I will inform this list when I have a confirmed air date.
Second, the book submission process. Well, that's been more complex than I ever imagined. In my younger novel-writing days it was simply a matter of writing the book, sending it in, and hoping for the best. With nonfiction it's a whole different ball game. Instead of merely reading the book, editors want to see a proposal that tells them the reasons you'll be able to sell it for them. I think I've been able to
do that to an acceptable level, but it has cost weeks of
back-and-forth with the agent as we've honed the entire submission package.
For those who might be interested, that package includes the 80,000 word, 320 page manuscript (double spaced) interspersed in the appropriate places with the 60 black & white illustrations that make the Starchild's story impossible to dismiss with the usual mainstream ridicule. In addition, there was a 12 page overview, a 2 page biography, a table of contents, a mock cover, a CD with the manuscript and the color versions of the black & white illustrations, a DVD with five of my television appearances on it, along with an excerpt of a filmed lecture, and copies of five magazine articles, two about me and three I had written. It has been no cakewalk to pull this all together and make it look as professional as possible.
The bad news is that we finished it two weeks ago, in the first week of August. It turns out August is vacation month for the entire publishing industry. Nobody sends or receives projects. It's down time in a business that for the rest of the year is intensely paced, so nothing starts up again until after Labor Day. My agent, who is also on vacation, has assured me she will get on top of the submissions as soon as she returns to her office full-time. She feels she can have them in the hands of interested editors by the end of September, when it then becomes a matter of determining which one, or ones, are interested in publishing it. As with the National Geographic show, when a book deal is confirmed I'll notify this mailing list.
On the Starchild website, Starchild Project, Amy has completely reformatted the two long slide shows that used to be there. She's broken them into four smaller units while adding terrific new details to the photos to make the skull's uniqueness crystal clear. Now they're much more compelling for anyone going through them because they make you FEEL the power of the case we're making with them. Even if you've been through those slides before, check them out now. They're vastly improved from how they used to be.
On a personal note, Amy has created a new feature on Lloyd Pye, called "Megaliths." She's taken my voice as I lectured about Megaliths, and tracked it over the slides I use to illustrate what I'm talking about. It's not like viewing a slide show, or a video excerpt. It's short, it's punchy, it's different, and I think anyone who checks it out will get a kick out of it. Other than waiting for the book manuscript to find a home in New York, and the National Geographic documentary to be aired, we're battening down the hatches here in Florida in anticipation of the oncoming hurricane season. Wish us well, as we wish all of you good health and safe travels.

Chris Landsea, a meteorologist at the National Hurricane Center in Miami, says that research shows evidence of natural hurricane cycles, rather than a gradually trending upward. Hurricanes can have extremely busy 10-to-15-year cycles followed by periods of 25 to 40 years of quiet, he explained. We find ourselves in a busy portion of hurricanes' natural fluctuation. The right pressure patterns in the Atlantic, lack of an El-Nino, and the presence of areas of warm water are spawning the major storms as we are experiencing.
But there are other opinions. Are hurricanes, along with earthquakes and volcanoes, being set off and manipulated by electromagnetic waves? Does the technology exist? Who has the resources and motive to direct a weather weapon?
Scott Stevens believes in Weather Wars. Scott Stevens was an Idaho weatherman (KPVI News Channel 6) who has terminated his nine year career as a meteorologist to devote more time to his Weather Wars theory. He blames the Japanese Mafia for Hurricane Katrina, saying the Yakuza Mafia used a Russian-made electromagnetic generator to cause Hurricane Katrina in a bid to avenge the atomic bomb attack on Hiroshima. He has been a guest on Coast to Coast and was interviewed by Bill O'Reilly at Fox News.
Richard C. Hoagland (The Enterprise Mission) believes that recent hurricanes are not natural events, as well. His latest blog, Hyperdimensional Katrina offers observations and evidence for both Hurricanes Katrina and Rita leading him to conclude that these storms may be artificially manipulated.

Hello to all 1500 of you:
First, I want to wish all Americans, Happy Thanksgiving! To the rest of you, we all have something to be thankful for this year. As you know if you've been to the new website (www.starchild-uk.com) to see the slide show there, we have discovered two unknown, previously unimagined aspects of the Starchild's bone: (1) what seems to be highly durable fibers threaded throughout; and (2) what seems to be desiccated marrow, or some other reddish residue, in the cancellous holes that contained marrow when it was alive. These are both certain to be historic finds, regardless of whether they do or don't mean the Starchild is at least partially of alien origin.
Thus, after six long years of frustrating struggle, we stand on the verge of making world-class history at some point during the next few months. Unfortunately, the closer we've drawn to scientifically proving our supposition about possible alien involvement, the less we are being helped to achieve that monumental goal. This is a baffling contradiction, one I simply don't understand. I work for all of you, in the stead of everyone whom I assume would do what I do if you had the opportunity. I would expect you all to help even more as we drew closer to the final goal. Yet exactly the opposite has taken place. The closer we get, the more help has dried up, to the point where we are near blowing away. I'm being painfully serious when I say that.
It's all about numbers, which is why I opened with how many of you are on the Starchild mailing list--1500. A few months ago, when I last sent out a plea for help, we received $1500 in contributions. You can all see the average. One person gave $1000, four others gave the other $500. 5 out of 1500. You can see that average, too. But the bottom line, the most crucial number, is this: we are perilously near to 0 (zero) in the Starchild bank account, and if we don't get a serious infusion of help by the end of the year, we will be forced to close up shop for an indeterminate time, if not permanently. For sure the momentum and goodwill we've established with some of the research community in England will be lost. This would be a tragedy I hope all 1500 of you will consider helping us to avoid.
Again look at some numbers. If all 1500 of you gave $10, we'd have $15,000--nearly halfway to our total requirement of $40,000 dollars. (For a detailed breakdown of our needs, provided by those willing to do the work, see the list below this letter.) If all of you gave $20, we would have $30,000--3/4 of the way to the $40,000 we need. And if you all gave $30, we'd have $45,000--the $40,000 we need with $5,000 left over for contingencies. $30 from each of you would solve all the problems and allow us to move ahead with full steam.
Naturally, not ALL of you are going to contribute even a dollar, much less $30. Let's face it, when only 5 out of 1500 respond to a well-justified plea for help, we obviously have a motivation problem. That is just as obviously my fault. I simply have never quite figured out how to motivate each of you to contribute to the cause. But now it's down to do-or-die for all of us. Many of you have been in this from the start, and many of you have contributed along the way, many of you for substantially more than $30. If not, I wouldn't be here writing you from London; I would not have made it this far.
Assuming not everyone will contribute $30, that some of you will have to take up slack from others who, for whatever reason, simply cannot send even a minimal amount, if you can, PLEASE send more, whether $50 or $75 or even $100 (or more if you can). I don't know how else to say it. I don't know how to grovel any more abjectly than this. I have put six long, grinding, often humiliating years into this work, into getting this thing scientifically evaluated, and now I have it on the verge of success. I can't imagine what it will be like to have to pull back and accept a defeat of this magnitude, all for lack of an ability to motivate the 1500 of you on my mailing list.
I can do no more. It's up to you, each and every one of you, and those you might forward this to. You all have to decide if you want this to end knowing you DIDN'T help at the modest level I'm asking all of you to contribute. You will notice, I hope, that I've never asked you all to contribute a small amount before. I've always felt that would be more like begging than asking for your heartfelt contributions. But desperate times call for desperate measures. This is as desperate as times are going to get for the Starchild. I don't know how else to make you understand this.

We've been following Lloyd Pye and the Starchild Project here on TDG since the beginning. It's been quite some time since our last update.
Hi Everyone!
I regret to tell you we've had virtually NO LUCK rallying support for the next and hopefully final round of testing on the Starchild skull that's outlined at the new website. So far we have $1000 of the $50,000 or more we'll ultimately need. Things are, barring a miracle, looking grim.
Those improbable fibers dangling from inside the bone after it was cut, and the impossible reddish residue somehow still in the cancellous holes after 900 years just don't, for some reason, seem yet to be enough to get people excited. I can tell you I'M sure excited about it, and the scientists working on it here in London and at a university in the north of England are sure excited about it, but excitement can only carry us so far.
To that end, I recently received a copy of this (below) unsolicited letter sent to a personal list by someone who knows me in the way he describes in the text. I was so moved by his words, I asked for his permission to relay it to all of you. He agreed, and I think you'll be as touched by his sincerity as I was.
I have left his last name off to protect his privacy, but he will verify it privately if anyone wants to communicate with him. Let me know and I'll give you his email address. Otherwise, read on and, if you think it's warranted, please pass it along to your friends. We can't have too many people in our loop now that we're trying hard to making history happen.

While I normally wouldn't send something like this out to my list, I think most will find it interesting regardless of your thoughts or beliefs regarding other life in the universe.
A little background... In 1997 I had the pleasure of having dinner with Lloyd Pye after a conference in Laughlin, Nevada (The International UFO Congress). Having heard him speak for hours several times on nationwide talk radio previously, I'd purchased and recently read his book "Everything You Know Is Wrong, Book One: Human Origins." At the conference I watched him give a riveting presentation for over 2 hours on the Sumerians, Hominoids (bigfoot and such), the differences between micro and macro evolution, the "missing link", and ultimately, human origins.
Of about 30 presentations I saw that week, his was by far the most powerful in terms of content and delivery. Seven years later I would still rank it as one of the best I've ever seen (and I've seen hundreds). In spending some time with Lloyd over the course of that week, I found him to be extremely knowledgeable, quick-witted, thorough, and very approachable.
Six months to a year later, I saw him again at the following Congress, where he introduced us all to a very odd skull(later dubbed "The Starchild Skull"). This is a remarkable artifact that he became the "guardian" of based on his reputation for integrity, and it has to be seen to be believed, much less understood.
So what's the big deal about this skull? The appearance and characteristics of it are like nothing conventional science has ever seen, and it may be found to contain non-human (alien) DNA or hybrid DNA. No kidding.
In 1999 I traveled to Egypt on an "Ancient Wisdom" tour with a group of Egyptologists, Mechanical engineers, Mythologists, Ethno-biologists, Scholars of ancient symbolism, and other researchers. Lloyd Pye was one of the speakers, and it was there I learned more about this skull and got to handle an exact replica of it. Needless to say, it was quite a feeling to hold this skull and observe its uniqueness close-up.
Over the years I have had correspondence with Lloyd and read in his updates about the many hardships in trying to get valid scientific answers about this skull. The scientific testing needed is very expensive. He could have quite easily commercialized the project to get the funding he needed for the various types of proper DNA and bone testing but chose not to go that route because the ultimate release of the findings could be compromised and his motives made suspect by such actions.
To get this accepted by the mainstream would be all but impossible without impeccable, irrefutable scientific data and no question as to his motivations. Though appearing on many radio and TV shows over the last 5 years, privately raising funding has been surprisingly difficult. As a result of the choice to stay private, this journey has been a long and difficult one for him and I have the utmost respect for him for sticking with it when so many others wouldn't have had the courage to do the same.
Why am I writing this? Well, because probably no one on my list knows him but you all know me, and in sharing this with you I hope to express the respect I have for this man as a researcher and a friend. His work and the research done on this project is truly groundbreaking, and when the dust settles and the tests are all completed, this could very well be one of the most important discoveries of our time. That's a bold statement to make, until you stop and think about the ramifications of such a discovery on so many aspects of science. Only time will tell.
Previous progress updates on the Starchild Project were upwards of 20+ pages of text that was often difficult to fully grasp. Now on a new website they have an easy to digest slideshow in Macromedia Flash which makes it much simpler to absorb the gist of the project. At the website go to the "2004 Results" link. It takes about 2 minutes to load and about 30 minutes to read through the brief text below each of the 45 slides.
Check it out when you have enough time, and pass it on to those you think would be interested. I don't think anyone will be sorry they took the time to see--or help with--what could well be history in the making.
