Believe me, for Barack Obama to have been elected President of the United States, millions of people overcame their prejudices. The reason that they overcame their prejudices is irrelivant. The fact is that they overcame their prejudices. And, to paraphrase Sir Winston Churchill, if the United States lasts 10,000 years, November 4, 2008 could very well be its finest day!
If you want to talk about class, both Barack Obama's acceptance speech, and John McCain's concession speech were pure class. But, I have never seen more class than I saw in John McCain's concession speech. The man has class, and so does President Elect Barach Obama!
Let us hope that in the future the world can overcome its prejudices!
But, this is my opinion, and I want to know what your opinion is.

I agree
I'm happy for the American people. I'm happy that they conquered their apathy and lack of commitment and went to vote in record numbers. I'm happy the election happened without violent incidents. And I'm happy that McCain showed more diplomacy and chivalry that his supporters, who couldn't stop booing Obama's name when mentioned!
Most of all, I'm happy that the darkest page in the recent American history will finally be turned, and that a new social milestone has been achieved.
Congratulations America; and congratulations to President-Elect Barack Obama. My only regret is that his dearly-beloved grandma didn't live to see him win. But maybe that's the fate of all who are destined to be great leaders: for them even the greatest victories have a bittersweet taste.

I disagree...We have much to reserve in judgement.
47% of Americans do not pay taxes. Most of those are either Black, Hispanic or other. They voted Obama into office along with Democrats who have forgotten History. We will now have to repeat it. As a former Democratic Party strategist who was also in the media for a long time, I know how and why Obama got the job.
There is another mass of people who pay the taxes and have invested in America that hated seeing war but also saw the Towers come down and will not forget the Pentagon. Our military is very angry. I was one of them. The Picture you see now, is only in the process of developing. If the investors in America or the conservatives who pay the most in Taxes are in any way tread upon, they will rebel by holding back their financial and educational positions. Those folks are real mean if taken advantage of. Most of these folks are the professionals (Doctors, Educators, Owners, and etc.). They were outfoxed by dumb Republicans this time around and hold Bush Accountable. But do not think they will let those who do not pull their load dance in the streets for free. Politics in America as in the world runs on the source of money. Don't Mess With Texas (so to speak). Texas and most of the south has a few smart patriots who would become a little angry if someone shook their boat.
Words of caution

EF: Your recent posts mentioning race are beginning to disturb me. I think some quiet reflection is in order.
You could just as easily say that Obama was mainly voted in by the youth - the only vote McCain really won was seniors. Please don't selectively mine the data to race-bait.

He is a Token and Puppet on a String
Here is my take on President-Elect Obama, “I (Barack Obama) do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States of America, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States”. Barack Obama received the endorsement and the approval of the Invisible Elitist; he was “selected” (elected) outside the ballot box; his Oath of Office as all past, present and would-be future United States Presidents have an obligation to preserve, protect and defend the Invisible Elitist, as well as to serve at the disposal of the International Banks and Bankers—Morgans, Oppenhemiers, Rothschilds, Rockefellers, etc. If Obama like the other past democrats and republicans presidential servants is willing to expand and preserve the POWER ELITE’S wealth and stranglehold over humanity, then without a doubt Obama will be their presidential servant (Front man) who will do some great things by their permission and in their interest. He is a token and puppet on a string.
The Oath should read something like this, “I Barack Obama do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and to the best of my ability to preserve the wealth of all the DYNASTIC FAMILIES located throughout the world, protect their financial interest and defend against all would be enemies foreign and domestic that might ask for equal distribution of the world’s wealth. Lastly, and furthermore, I will continue to destroy and erode the rights given to the people in the U.S. Constitution and defend the U.S. Patriot ACT, Military Commission Act, Anti-Terrorism Act to the Best of my ability to serve the Elitist so help ME POWER BROKERS”.
These are some of the non-negotiable pre-conditions that Senator Obama and any other presidential candidate must obey, if they desire to be appointed to head the nation and the world.

Constitution Worthless Piece of Paper
Redpill: We have no constitutional rights, may be at one time in American history this document mattered, today it is a worthless piece of paper. You do not reach the level President-Elect Obama has reached by voting and/or by a ballot box election; voting is only an illusion, in what the masses perceive as their tool of expression pursuant to democracy participation and we are taught this is the highest representation of freedom and liberty that one can exercise in a so-called civilized society. No, I am not willing be duped on a symbol of token success and we call that progress; this so-called progress has been carefully orchestrated and well crafted by those who practiced deception and chicanery to lure the masses of the people to sleep into believing that Obama's appointment resolve 450 years of human injustice and conflict. This election does not begin to resolve the political, economic and social divide that exists inside of America. It is going to take a little more than the appointment of the first so-called first African American president. I and my KEEPING IT REAL THINK Tank are in touch with African Americans on the ground level outside the eye shot of the cameras and many see it just like I am giving to you. I know my point of view is very pessimistic, but one thing about my perspectives whether people agree or disagree, I have remained consistent. Now! I have fought for freedom, justice and equality and even Civil Rights all my adult life on many different levels and fronts. But I know who is running the show.

So voting is worthless
So voting serves no purpose, because all politicians are servants of the Economic interests: the Bilderbergs, Rothchilds and what-have.you; and exposing those elitist in power and their secret schemes doesn't do much good either—because let's face it, if THAT were a real threat to them, many of us would be dead by now.
So what do we do then?

RedPill: Voting Means Nothing--The Power Elite Decide
Did you know that in 1967 a one world government system was organized in Geneva, Switzerland by a United Nations meeting? and on that date, they decided to dissolve the United Nations to make room for a One World Government. The One World Government will seize all possessions, savings and personal bank deposits. Every man, woman and child will receive a certain amount of money and a number from the One World Government system. The One World Government currency is already printed and ready to be put in circulation. Every dollar will be traded. You will in the near future receive one dollar for every ten dollars; the banker will handle what money you get, eventually we will not be handling any money. At that same United Nations meeting they stated that you would receive a number from the One World Government. In March of 1974, it was stated by the European economic market that they needed a leader. They initially suggested Henry Kissinger as leader of the New World Order.
Gary Allen and Larry Abraham in their book titled, "None Dare Call it Conspiracy" questions how free we are by listing what they called the 'The Fourteen Signposts to Slavery," which reads like this 1). Restriction on taking money out of the country and on the establishment or retention of a foreign bank account by an American citizen. 2). Abolition of private ownership of hand guns. 3). Detention of individuals without judicial process. 4). Requirements that private financial transactions be keyed to social security numbers or other government identification so that government records of these transactions can be kept and fed into a computer. 5). Use of compulsory education laws to forbid attendance at presently private schools. 6). Compulsory non-military service. 7). An official declaration that anti-Communist organizations are subversive and subsequent legal action taken to suppress them. 9). Laws limiting the number of people allowed to meet in a private home. 10). Any significant change in passport regulations to make passport more difficult to obtain or use. 11). Wage and price controls, especially in a non-wartime situation. 12). Any kind of compulsory registration with the government of where individuals work. 13). Any attempt to restrict freedom of movement within the United States. 14). Any attempt to make a new major law by executive decree (that is, actually put into effect, not merely authorized as by existing executive orders.) This book “None Dare Call it Conspiracy” was written over thirty-two (32) years ago and the words are prophetic, as far as laying out the AGENDA which is a living document, it foretold how the American people would eventually be striped of all civil liberties. 9/11 put us on that track. (Reference: Gary Allen and Larry Abraham: “None Dare Call it Conspiracy”)
The majority of the American people and the people of the world do not understand that there is no such thing as democracy—one man, one vote, this is only an illusion designed to give the impression and to pacify the ignorant masses into believing that they matter in the political systems of the world and it is just to the contrary. The Cabal will never leave picking their high power servants and operatives up to a ballot box and at the political discretion of an electoral process. Voting is only a matter of going through the motions and placating the ignorant masses, but the Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission and Bilderberger they are the real POWER BROKERS, it is their job to select the next United States president and your vote, popular vote count, delegates, superdelegates, electoral college vote etc., do not count worth a damn in the scheme of what have given you above.

After all Your Fine Words,You Don't Vote Fahim?
Then in my book, you have no right to whine! You have failed to act, and believe you are doing something by running off at the mouth about black/white/rich/poor relations. And you don't vote? THE RIGHT TO DISSENT
Bladerunner said: "If I fail to respect your blogs about America and the World in the future , I will point out your failure to exercise the rights so many have died and been imprisoned for. Hypocrisy is all I see in your words, no matter how finely woven. With one word you have undone the whole cloth."
This is an unfortunate that you seem to be holding this strict Constitutional perspective, but fail to recognize and accept the one of the biggest FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS WE HAVE IS THE RIGHT TO DISSENT. The First Amendment to the United States Constitutions affords us this right and it is not considered a violation of law. I perhaps could not say and hold some of the positions that I espouse, if I did not live in and under a "Democracy". Some of my positions have cost me a lot in my life, because even under a "democracy" to dissent there is often a price that one must pay both in the scheme of personal mobility and social mobility. The United States was founded on dissension, but we live basically in a two party system and this so-called allows the people to be critical and complimentary. The term whining is relative, but free speech is protected whether we characterize it as agreeable speech or disagreeable speech.
Stay Awake Until We Meet Again,
Fahim A. Knight-EL
The privilege of voting
Yes Fahim, you have the Constitutional right to dissent; so IMHO you could have gone to the ballot and annul your vote. Otherwise your voluntary dissent is really no different in the outcome than other person's apathy.
I wrote a blog entry a while ago in which I questioned the methods of our current Democratic systems. But at the same time I acknowledge that a lot of great men and women throughout the world have given their lives to fight for the right to cast a vote in a public election. I still think there are several important flaws with Democracy, but currently that's the best system we have —or the less wrong, if you prefer.
And you didn't answer my question: If voting is useless—which would also imply all the forms of public opinion are also of null value— and if we're so powerless and insignificant towards the Economic powers that secretly pull the strings of ALL the Nations, what's left for us free-thinking humans to do in order to change this world?
Should we go hide in a log cabin, or start buying rifles? Wait until the next big asteroid wipes out the rest of humanity so we can pick of the pieces of the world and start over, hoping THIS time we'll get it right?
What do we do?

RedPill: Please Consider Other Voices as Being Patriotic
RedPill: You are absolutely right. I did not answer your question relative to whether or not I voted. I intentionally did not answer your question, not out of disrespect or even ignoring your question. I know as intelligent as you are; you would catch that even if others perhaps missed my non-response, but it is in no way being disrespectful toward you. No, dissent is a legitimate form of protest and I do not necessarily agree that it contributes to apathy as you describe; it is just as American as those who follow the rules and guidelines that we consider palatable based on the status quo. Let me give you an example, I remember Muhammad Ali in mid 1960s and his dissent against the electoral process and Vietnam War; he described himself as a conscientious objector based on the Nation of Islam teachings as prescribed by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. He was convicted in 1967 of failure to adhere to the U.S. Selective Service Act and later the U.S. Supreme Court would agree that Muhammad Ali had every right to dissent based on his religious orientation. Now! Today people write and talk about Ali as a martyr and hero and the past unpatriotic talk and criticism that he once experienced have turned into love and admiration. In a so-called “Democracy” what makes it so unique, is that all voices have the right to be heard. Most of my writings will reflect some aspect of dissension, but I do think it is unfair to subtlety imply that is somewhat unpatriotic or a disrespect toward the concept of “Democracy”. I intentionally take the ant-thesis to get people to think out side the box and consider other possibilities. I personally see nothing wrong with that approach relative to the concept of “Democracy”.
Stay Awake Until We Meet Again,
Fahim A. Knight-EL
Ali
I did not say you were apathetic, Fahim. what I intended to say was that your voluntary dissent that comes from your personal reflection of the American political system, was probably not manifested properly when you decided not to vote.
For me annulling the vote after going to the ballot is closely related to Ali's choice to publicly state that he wouldn't go to the war, and accept the consequences of that decision. Which is a very different approach to opposing the Vietnam war than, say, fleeing to Canada to escape the draft.
So annulling is publicly manifesting that you recognize your right and position as a citizen, but that you oppose the incongruities of that system. Not going to the vote translates —IMO— exactly the same as those others who didn't show upon the ballots because they don't give a sh*t about their country. Do you really want to be included with those people?
Let me ask you something else: Now that—for better or for worse— Barack Obama is your President-elect and next year will be your President, which are the methods and strategy you would suggest people should follow, to make sure he fulfills his future sworn oath to work for the American people? Or, if need be, protest his policies?

The psycho-technique of third-party
manipulation will make slaves of us all.
Niccolo Machiavelli, the great Italian philosopher was considered the master of the "third-party manipulation theory" which allowed rulers, leaders, lovers, and thieves to leverage undetectable power for the eventual benefit of covert megalomania. Machiavelli was the sixteenth century political consultant to despots of principalities scattered all over Europe. In his dissertation called The Prince, he described methods that created conflict in populations so that a third-party could create factions that bickered among themselves while the prince secretly maneuvered each group toward social war via spin and propaganda that was strategically planned before hand. His words are just as applicable today. While the parties at war (such as our own liberals and conservatives) are stealthily coaxed and counseled by the puppet strings of the hidden (prince); social engineering is also being manifest to create new wealth for the (prince's) power needs... Clinton's legal defense fund?
Machiavelli described the method this way: "First, win the confidence of the city, group, or suitor which is disgruntled or disunited and be seen as the great arbitrator of their differences. While agents of the prince create fragmentation of the groups, which polarize, the prince gives slight support to the weaker of the parties -- they are useful victims. Subjugation is to be avoided for fear that they will attack you directly and in force. The objective is to exhaust the energy of the participants at odds through their own wailing, fighting, killing, courting, and bickering to the point that they all seek the middle man's dictate. Of course, one needs very good agents," (read media).
One wonders about this concept of third-party manipulation. Humanity could be the butt of this omnipotent joke. Consider that wars have been manipulated throughout history -- who really won? Certainly not the people. Many times the third-party is not truthfully known to be the real manipulating cause. Is he god? He is never known publicly. Dark shepherds are those who hide and reap the power. Who would benefit from a war among nations? Manufacturers of war apparatuses for sure. Eventually, there is much money to be made by those in power; though, they merely sit back and give consolation and maybe even fiery language to vulcanize the processes. Keeping the people volatile, ready to flame forth with just a spark, is the key to custodial success if you are one for whom strategic-watching is an occupation. To cause wealth to move while in turmoil, along with its populous in confusion, is the point of making changes in laws and policies. Keep the serfs guessing. Lady Clinton's National Health Plan was perhaps one of the greatest tools for hoodwinking the public. One may always tout its benefits to humanity while it usurps freedoms, increases hidden taxes, encourages immigration (for more voters) and represents a tool for eradication of the sickest even though not ill...in truth, only spirit.
Factionalism is perhaps the ultimate tool for slight-of-the-hand governance. If a third-party wished to gain power over an old power, it could create many little issues plagued by petty wars so that numerous groups and individuals could see themselves as victims that need the arbitration of a strong government of socialistic commitment. Positioning a wrong in the mind of the populace starts the body to raging, then secret action can be marshaled-- sort of like the last election, only there were several third-parties...Gore, Clinton, and Liberals with media, entertainment ties. The Republicans probably don't know how to manipulate via third-party leveraging or they just don't have the agents (read liberal media).
Rush Limbaugh, and other radio-rednecks will survive until a third-party gig is put on them. Hopefully people like Dan Rather and the other gods of the media will have long fallen to the patriots. Limbaugh's future will be dependent upon his knowledge of the pitfalls of too much wrangling and not enough research into liberalism's broad-minded technique. If the opposition to Limbaugh were to position him as a third-party manipulation-device, a mere tool for some hidden dark shepherd of custodial demeanor, then the liberals would be rid of him much to our loss of balance in the presentation of political wisdom. One problem -- Limbaugh is seemingly truthful.
The point of this tiny treatise is that we are being had by ulterior and perhaps exterior motives. We are the slaves. The general populace always treads upon the grounds of slavery when it succumbs to manipulation that takes its freedoms away for level playing fields. Usually in the end, we slaves lose to the very causes we believe in. An example is the feminist movement, which will cause us to lose our jobs, our children, our spouses, our self-respect, and our nation if we believe that one part of our multicultural society is better than all the rest. Special privileges to certain "eccentric" factions will kill our military and then open our nation to the nihilist invaders because we couldn't see that the media was controlled by a brotherhood of third-party "man-ip-ulators" -- positioning ideas to take our lives and livelihood away. Make war on the third-party manipulators instead of your fellow humans. What a Machiavellian idea! Now, see if you can find them.
Feminism
An example is the feminist movement, which will cause us to lose our jobs, our children, our spouses, our self-respect, and our nation if we believe that one part of our multicultural society is better than all the rest.
While I think that what you're criticizing about the Feminist movement is the radicalization of it by some individuals, we should admit that it has brought a lot of positive changes to this world.
And we still have a lot of ground to cover. There was this news earlier this year about a woman in Mexico that tried to become the mayor of her town, and the town 'elders' (or f*ckers, as I see them) considered that a woman didn't have the right to give orders to men. And since was a community of indigenous people, the government concluded that they had full autonomy to impose their ancient customs, no matter how backwards and obsolete they were.
There was also the news about two Indian girls that were working as hosts for a little radio show in their community ('The Voice that Breaks the Silence' was the name of their show), where they tried to expose some of the local problems and the corrupt ways of the political leaders, and also about women's rights. They were ambushed by the highway, and murdered.
And let's not talk about the countless deaths of women in Ciudad Juárez, murders that remain unsolved since the 90's; but no one gives a sh*t, because the victims were poor working women.

Without a doubt, history is being made with Barack Obama's victory. The world is his oyster and he has the opportunity to effect US and world history. Obviously, the best man won. I also fear for the future, though. While most people are relatively moderate and rational, there are wackos out there. It is nothing to do with respecting age and experience. I was commenting about some of your recent comments which blame minority groups for certain things.
Whether you have ancestors who were Black and Hispanic means nothing - I am concerned with your statements right now. It has as much meaning as when you say you used to be a Democratic staffer, and then rattle on with political absurdities betraying a right-wing point of view. (Yes, I have noticed your quite obvious ploy of couching your views by saying you have coloured ancestors, or that you once worked for the Democratic party. It's a simple equation: I see repeated bigotry, I ask the person to stop. If they disagree, they are free to go discuss things on another website - it's my job to patrol this one, and in the words of your once favourite person, "I'm the decider". If you disagree, you're more than welcome to take your discussion away from this website.
Considering I've allowed you back (despite numerous protestations from other members) after being kicked out of here once before, I find it rather amusing that you think I'm "zeroing" in on you...
Kind regards,
Greg

You monkeys only think you're running things
I have a whole family of Females ordering me around
70% of those voting Obama into office were unmarried women. Mostly female college students and youngish women still dating. They according to my research bank of demographic and psychographic data are somewhat flippant and love to be audacious in the face of anyone who stands in their way. Who does not know this type of human. Yet, those who did not vote him into office represent some 55 million conservatives who will not partake and turn off their gay-liberal network programs such as "Ugly Whomever" and many others because they are tired of the IN YOU FACE antics of some who delight in this behavior. This is data coming out of research that I have access to because I am also an Advertising Agency owner. Those friends of mine who are in the media that I also was once a big part of, are saying that if these conservatives turn off all connections to the programing that networks like ABC, CBS, NBC and etc., are currently running, then losses will skyrocket due to sponsors also pulling out to cater to the real money earners who are mostly conservative. There will be big losses in the media due to their lack of consideration for the values of Conservatives. New networks and cable companies are now forming to present moral values and will soon supplant companies like Time-Warner and others. Churches are driving this new campaign to backlash the present programing of ANYTHING GOES.
Advertising and Marketing persons need to take note that being audacious is one thing, but knowing where the money comes from is another.
Money Talks...as George Soros knows.
Audacious; Bold Fearless
Which you take as rude. Women aren't "in their place" anymore. And will vote as they see best for their, and their future families/communities interest.
You don't like the women in your life to tell you what to do? If you talk to, or treat them in the same fashion as you write here, I'd be pissed at you to! You may be your own worst enemy! Women can be what we wish now, not a mix of medieval and TV images, stuck in your old nogin. Your generalizations are seemingly endless. And this problem does not end or begin with you. It seems about 30% of the population is affected. The rest of us finally acted together and hope we have changed the direction this country is headed.
No, I have always been loved by most beautiful women
I have not problem with women. I do have a problem with those who seek to lie or cheat. If those you know are that way, yes—I would indeed have a problem. The women in my life are kind, thoughtful, creative, dynamic and run their own businesses. My wife is great and my daughters are wonderful conservative, christian women.
